Physical appearance[]

Iris is a Caucasian woman with green eyes and long red hair. She usually ties her hair into a ponytail, with side-swept bangs pulled to the right.

Early life[]

Iris married Barry Allen in 2006.[4] Iris knew her husband was the Flash for quite a while. When her nephew Wally recreated the accident that gave Barry his speed, Iris supported her husband, who blamed himself for it.[5]

Iris found out she was pregnant in the morning, but decided to wait to tell her husband until they were alone that night, as they wanted to celebrate the Garricks' wedding anniversary first.

The sudden arrival of her future grandson spoiled the surprise. However, Iris was shocked to learn she was pregnant with not one child, but two, a boy and a girl. Soon after, her editor Pete called her with news that a new menace wreaked havoc in the city.[8]

In late June,[9] Iris attended Wally West's funeral.[10]

As her children were playing, she watched a television report and upset that Cat Grant reported the news while people seemingly forgot she was a reporter. Soon she and the twins heard the doorbell with the children running to answer it, as she scrambled after them to catch up but couldn't keep up with their super speed. However, Bart caught them and she was grateful but reminded him not to address her son as his father or her as grandma. Afterwards, Iris welcomed the parents and children of the Justice League and caught up. When Donnie ran around from his future son, Iris again reminded him not to address him as his father.[11]
