Wotan was as a member of the Injustice League, and used his magic to power a plant spore controlling many other plant spores in Gotham City, Star City, Paris and Taipei. When the Team arrived to engaged them in their bayou hideout, Black Adam and Count Vertigo subdued them, except for Robin and Miss Martian. Wotan encased them in a magical cage, as Black Adam carried it from underneath. Aqualad tried to pry the cage open with his own magical talents, but to no avail.
Miss Martian's Bio-Ship arrived, and knocked Wotan out, freeing the captive heroes, and a battle ensued. Aqualad donned the Helmet of Fate to counter Wotan's powers and the two fought to a stalemate.
Before Wotan and the Injustice League could emerge victorious, the Justice League arrived and Zatara quickly overpowered him.[5] He was taken to Belle Reve.[6]
