Non-Speaking Roles???

In the Latest episode, which was good. I just didnt understand why all those kidnapped kids had nothing to say at all. Its kinda strange because in that situation you think you would be screaming or at least say something like Whats Going on?. You have Shimmer who has powers and doesnt say anything and you have Static who is trying to help the others but doesnt say anything.
