Hello Megan -- Why make the point Red Tornado is immune to telepathy

Okay, I'll stop with the "Hello Megan". In infiltrator "The Light" reveals that they "have an operative on the inside" when they have problems with the "young heroes". One of the first things we learn in Young Justice is that Red Tornado is immune to telepathy. Why would the writers go out of the way to establish RT is immune to telepathy? Why spend time in a 30 minute show establishing that plot point? RT volunteered to "look after" the kids. How very generous of him.
