Out of universe, not really, yes it may end but there's also evidence for renewal. Nothing is as certain as the negative worldview from a pessimist.
First, I never said that they would show people dying, just that it looks like people are gonna die. As for out of universe, what evidence is there for renewal?
BTW, they've shown images for "True Colors" here, so there's some good news.
