Hey guys, long time browser, first time contributer. I was just wondering how we know those fins on the calfs are real and not just part of Aquaman and Aqualad's costumes? 84.203.149.12 15:30, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

They don't appear to be real. --Tupka217 (talk|wall) 16:50, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Rewrite[]

I gave it a little rewrite based on #14... "Atlantean" is not really a race, it's just "inhabitants of Atlantis". Maybe the image needs to be changed into something that shows some more diversity. --Tupka217 (talk|wall) 16:50, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Language[]

Is it really necessary to have most of it in CIT, from the script the Ancient Greek basis is practically written straight: Kaldur'a(h)m (Kappa Alpha Lamda Delta Upsilon Roe' Alpha Mu), Greek as im aware uses the prononciation more or less the first letter. The language itself may not use a traditional vocab or syntax, but it's basis in Greek is clear from the comics.Regulus22 11:13, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, it's no longer CIT with c14 and c15. --Tupka217 12:40, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
Should there be a page for the Atlantean language the way there is for Rannian and Interlac?--Gweisman (talk) 09:50, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

I hope I'm not putting this in the wrong place. I thought I should keep it under this old heading cause it's very closely related. I'm catching up on the show right now and currently watching Nautical Twilight, and, in the opening scene, I immediately recognized the Greek spoken by (I think) Ocean Master. From what I can tell, at least for that one line before the title sequence--I haven't finished the episode yet--he's speaking untainted Ancient Greek with some Modern Greek pronunciation. I'm not 100% sure because I don't know Modern Greek, so I'm basing some of the spelling off info I'm looking up on the fly, but I'm fairly confident that it translates verbatim to what the subtitles say, so it's not an evolved form of Ancient Greek; it's genuine (Attic) Ancient Greek. Also, that CIT part of the language section doesn't seem to be sourced from what I can tell (although I don't have the issue cited, so maybe there's something I'm missing). I think he's saying (without diacritics cause I'm not good with those), "σοι χαριν οἰδα, Δανυυθ (Danuuth), περι [some form of ερχομαι] συ ἐνθα [some word I can't figure out] και περι πιστει [maybe ὁς or ὡς, but I don't know how either of those would fit in] σου," which basically directly translates to "Thank you, Danuuth, for you coming here and for the trust of you." I don't know if this is enough evidence that the CIT part is inaccurate or not. Someone who knows both Ancient and Modern Greek (like anyone who went through the public school system in Greece I'm pretty sure) might be more able to figure this out. Species attribute-Magic[]

Had a thought on Topo's page due to Lagoon Boy. Atlanteans have been made clear that the different appearances have No meaning biologically. Cause of this LB's inflation thing which was largely thought to be exclusive for his species is instead a property of his special grade of magic which any subspecies of atlantean is capable of performing with the proper training. Topo has the ink spout, so wouldnt this most likely be a similar case (ink's art magic-ish I suppose).Regulus22 05:15, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Well, they have given us a handy hint: glowing tattoos. La'gaan had light-up tattoos when he puffed up. Does Topo glow when he squirts ink? I can't check for myself at the moment. -- Psypher 11:36, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
We dont actually see him squirt ink, just sort of appears with him offscreen at the time :S 121.217.15.233 11:42, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
No, he does squirt ink on screen (or, on panel - issue #14). Strangely, it comes out of his tentacles. Not the suction caps, but the tips. Also, Aqualad says of the ink screen in #15: "That... is not... sorcery... it is... TOPO!"--Tupka217 11:52, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
Noted nevermind then (anon above was me). Regulus22 13:38, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
