Physical appearance[]

Stephanie is a Caucasian girl with blonde hair past her shoulders and bright blue eyes. Her hair is wavy and she keeps most of it tucked behind her ears, save for two bangs that frame her face.

As her alter-ego Spoiler, she wears a dark purple and gray costume that covers her from head to toe. Her face is mostly hidden behind a mask, except for her eyes; a purple hood hides her bright hair.

Bumblebee leads the abductees

Intended to be guinea pigs for the Reach, Stephanie, and the abducted teens were liberated by the Team.

Tigress and Manta Troopers under her command locked Stephanie and seven other abducted teenagers in a metal cage, awaiting shipment to the Partner. Tim Drake and Barbara Gordon infiltrated the cage, surprising the abductees. Stephanie was skeptical that they were there to help, and asked the heroes why they should trust them. She became convinced of their capabilities when she saw Bumblebee fly into Tim's jacket pocket.

Stephanie was later placed in a pod along with the others, and transported in the Manta-Flyer to the Reach mobile base in the Pacific. The Team broke her and the other abductees free, and they high-tailed it into the Bio-Ship. After retrieving all members, as well as the unconscious Blue Beetle, the Team, with Stephanie in tow, made good on their escape.[8]

Stephanie Brown debuted as Spoiler in 2017. She joined the Team sometime in 2018.[9]

2018[]

In January,[10] the Joker took the United Nations hostage in a twisted revenge plot against the Light. Spoiler went along with the Bat family to stop him. The individual members skillfully disabled his Joker venom canisters, steering a path for Batman straight to the Joker. He attempted to flee as the scheme fell apart, and in the ensuing chaos Batgirl was struck by friendly fire. Before he could make another run to escape, Spoiler, Batwoman, and Robin beat him into submission.[11]

Spoiler, Robin, Arrowette, and Orphan were tracking the Mad Hatter, who turned out to be Clayface in disguise. They followed him to a warehouse where they continued fighting the mind-controlled Clayface, but the real Mad Hatter blew up the warehouse. Spoiler and the others escaped safely.[12]

Tigress called upon several of her allies, including Spoiler, to help her deduce the trustworthiness of two alleged turncoats from the League of Shadows: Cassandra Savage and Onyx Adams. Spoiler expressed empathy for Savage desiring to deflect from the foul ways of her father, as she too had done. Yet, she remained open to the possibility that both may have been sent as a double misdirection.[4]

Spoiler reported to Green Arrow's hideout to relieve Orphan of guard duty over the two suspects. Orphan, however, refused to leave, so they both kept watch. Sometime later, Tigress arrived and was just as confused as Spoiler as to why Orphan refused to abandon her post. Tigress relieved them both, and Spoiler made one last attempt to take Orphan with her. Predictably, she got ignored.[14]
