Early history[]

During World War II, the All-Star Squadron was based in New York, at the 1939 New York World's Fair site. In 1945,[10] Firebrand was killed by Dragon King at the headquarters,[8] and interred in Queens.[7]

Zatara and his family lived in New York City.[11] He became a hero in 1998, initally wearing mask. His stage and heroic careers often kept him away from home and family, and he was not there when his wife Sindella died from cancer[12] in 2008.[13]

In the United Nations building, Lobo tried to capture the secretary general Tseng, but got ambushed by Batgirl and Wonder Girl. Lobo eventually prevailed and revealed Tseng to be a robot operated by a Krolotean. He left with the alien.[1]

Fireworks exploded over the city, as humanity celebrated its freedom from the Reach. Superman, Captain Marvel, and all three Green Lanterns escorted the Reach flagship as it left its perch over the United Nations building, and departed the Earth.[26]

2018[]

In January,[27] the Joker staged an attack on the United Nations General Assembly with Joker venom bombs. The Bat family defused the bombs and apprehended Joker.[28]

Luthor decried the Outsiders' recklessness, and called for a registry of meta-humans and vigilantes, but Godfrey demonstrated the level of popular support for the Outsiders.[34]

As protestors (including a disguised Chameleon Boy)[37] gathered outside UN headquarters, inside Luthor decried the allegations against him as "fake news". He was interrupted by Superboy, who announced he was a Genomorph clone of Superman and Lex Luthor, created by Luthor and Cadmus. Ambassador Garth called for an immediate vote of no confidence in Luthor.[36]

Outside UN headquarters, Lor-Zod prepared to assassinate Superboy from his Time-Sphere. Saturn Girl, Phantom Girl and Chameleon Boy stopped him without anyone noticing, but Lor escaped.[38]

Zatanna conducted a training exercise for her students in the streets. Elsewhere, a Lord of Chaos, Child, arrived, sending out a wave of mystic energy and causing a brief power outage. As the Lord went to Fine Jewelry to take a familiar and human form, Zatanna and her students went to the Harlem entrance of Madame Xanadu's parlor, to investigate the energy wave.

Madame Xanadu sent them to Fine Jewelry, where they encountered Klarion, who had also come to investigate. Klarion nearly killed them all, but was summoned away by Child.[3]

The Phantom Stranger approached Zatanna for help dealing with Child. He sent her to Child and Klarion's location, then took her students to seek other help.[40]

Zatanna and her students arrived to find Child had been and gone, having left behind a pillar of fire and a field of reversed gravity. Wonder Woman, Troia, Wonder Girl and Wizard were handling the situation, so they left to continue their pursuit of Child.[12]

On or shortly after September 9, a dedication ceremony was held by Black Lightning and Troia for the building of a new Hall of Justice to begin the following Spring on Justice Island, opposite United Nations headquarters.[4]
