L-Ron (d. April 1, 2016) was the robotic majordomo of Despero.

Personality[]

L-Ron was an enthusiastic and blood-thirsty majordomo, whose existence was to serve and please his master. He spoke with a characteristically cheerful tone that may be mistaken for friendliness, but it largely contrasted with the sadism and hostility conveyed in his statements. He would also make up neologisms by adding the suffix "-ism" to nouns. In the face of defeat, L-Ron could manifest a murderous streak and take matters into his own hands.[1]

Physical appearance[]

L-Ron was a small drone with a golden hue. He had a circular head, with an orange visor. He possessed no legs, but naturally floated with the help of a gizmo attached to his torso.[1]

History[]

Aboard their vessel, L-Ron conferred Despero with holographic projections of Earth's mightiest champions. He told his master that some of the heroes within the hologram were not present on Earth at the time, much to Despero's displeasure. Though he reassured his master of other possible superhuman Earth candidate for him to challenge. He emboldened his master to collect multiple trophies from Earth.[1]

L-Ron arrived at the Hall of Justice and introduced himself to the heroes. Dubious at first, Captain Marvel took his presence as an April Fool's joke from Plastic Man. L-Ron, equally confused, activated an energy field around the complex, trapping the heroes. It was not long before Despero arrived and engaged them in battle. L-Ron chattered on about his master's superiority throughout the fight; condemning the heroes' abilities and efforts as unimpressive and dishonorable. After his master defeated Captain Marvel, he demanded that he face another opponent, L-Ron suggested Superboy.

As Despero violently battered Superboy about, Bumblebee and Miss Martian interfered. Angering him and his master to a great extent, L-Ron enthusiastically urged Despero to rip Superboy's head off of his body. Interrupted once again, though this time by Mal who, using the Guardian guise as a means to distract them, proclaimed to be Earth's true champion. Enthralled by Miss Martian's reaction towards him, L-Ron duly believed him to be Earth's champion; until he deduced that he was a distraction. Using his powers against him, the heroes overcame Despero.

L-Ron squawked that the heroes unfairly beat Despero. He activated his inner-weaponry, but Captain Marvel destroyed him before he could act. He transfigured himself into a bomb as a final resort, though failed to eliminate the assembled group.[1]
