Jason Bard was a United States Marine and is now a private detective in Star City. He owns a dog named Holly and is dating Artemis Crock.

Physical appearance[]

Jason is a Caucasian male with dark hair and green eyes. As a US Marine he wears a helmet, long sleeved green shirt and similar colored pants, with an armored vest. He has a number of pouches strapped to his pants.[2]

Early life[]

Jason is a friend of John Jones. At one point during his career in the US Marine Corps, he injured his leg,[3] resulting in its amputation.[4]

A simulation of Bard was part of a telepathically simulated training exercise of the Team. He fought under General Eiling in Washington, D.C..[2]

2010-2020[]

Jason started working as a private detective. While living in Gotham City, Jason dated Barbara Gordon,[5] who broke up with him to get back together with her ex. After moving to Star City to get his degree, Barbara set him up with Artemis Crock, and the pair began dating.[4]

Jason was jogging with Holly in the park when he came across Artemis sitting on a bench. They were soon joined by Artemis's sister, whom Artemis reluctantly introduced to him. Jade made a number of correct guesses about Jason's background, and Jason explained how he and Artemis came to be together.[4]

  • Jason Bard is a private detective introduced as part of Batgirl's supporting cast. His leg was injured during the Vietnam War, which forced him to walk with a cane.
  • This is his first animated appearance.
