History[]
Leonard Snart began his career as Captain Cold in 2001.[4]
After five mysterious ice fortresses covered the United States with a blanket of snow, Batman and Flash suspected Captain Cold and the other ice-villains were involved. Hugo Strange told them they had been, and still were, in their cells.[5]However, Captain Cold was in fact responsible for powering one of the fortresses.[6]
After an ambush on the Team involving Belle Reve in-mates made it clear the prison was under the Light's control, Vandal Savage called Hugo Strange to alert him, instructing him to open all the doors.[7]
Captain Cold planned to rob a bank from a rooftop across the street, completely unaware that a group of superheroines were celebrating Raquel Ervin's bridal shower immediately below him. He used his cold gun to freeze the entire street, bridal party included, in order to steal money from a parked bank truck. However, as he was about to retrieve the money, the superheroines emerged from the ice behind him. Seeing them, Captain Cold was mortified and asked if he was doomed, which Rocket confirmed as they charged forward to confront him.[8]
Equipment[]
Captain Cold's primary weapon is his cold gun which allows him to shoot icy beams that create an ice mass large enough to encase entire cars.
Captain Cold is a long-time Flash villain, the leader of the Rogues and a former member of the Suicide Squad. He is the brother of the late Golden Glider.
This is his sixth animated appearance. Earlier, he appeared in Challenge of the Super Friends, Justice League Unlimited, Justice League: The New Frontier, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
